“reckless” 是「鲁莽的；不计后果的」，”odds” 这里的意思是「困难」，如：Against all the odds, he recovered from his terrible injuries.「他克服各种困难，从严重的伤势中恢复。」，但此字还有另外一个意义「机率；可能性」，如：What are the odds that they will mess up?「他们把事情搞杂的机率有多少？」
玛格丽特‧杜鲁门 (1924-2008) 是美国第 33 任总统杜鲁门的女儿，著有一系列的悬疑小说以及有关白宫及其父母的作品。
